14 EM Summer School 2022

19 & 20.07. in Wuppertal as well as 29.08. to 02.09. in Flensburg.

The EM Summer School will enter its 14th round in 2022.

We, the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences and the Bergische Universität Wuppertal, are pleased to host the EM Summer School on "Electromagnetic Calculations" again this year in cooperation with CADFEM.

As every year, in close correspondence with the company CADFEM, we want to put together an interesting and instructive offer.

For more information please see our flyer: 230kB

The main topics are:

  • Basics of the calculation of electromagnetic fields with their potential formulations,
  • Application of the programs Ansys Electronics Desktop and Ansys Workbench for the solution of field tasks,
  • Generation of reduced order models from field simulation for use in system simulation,
  • Realization of field and system coupling for the description of mechatronic systems.
  • Impedance matrices and local losses in the winding head, magnetic submodeling for the analysis of stray field effects.

Depending on your interests, optional topics can be taken up such as:

  • Design of electrical machines with motor CAD,
  • Electrical - thermal coupled calculations of power semiconductors on printed circuit boards,
  • Methods for the calculation of winding head impedances of hairpin windings.

As we are always open to suggestions and questions of the participants, we kindly ask you to describe the topic and the working status of your dissertation, your experience in the field of electromagnetic simulations, your interest in optional topics as well as your expectations for the EM Summer School when registering.

Your contact person at the chair, Mr. Sebastian Gruber, will be happy to answer any questions you may have:
